If you've ever dreamed of building your own cabin in the woods, you're in the right place.

Several years ago, I set out to build an affordable off-grid A-frame cabin from the ground up. Like many people, I didn't have unlimited money or professional construction experience. What I did have was a desire to build something with my own hands and create a place where I could slow down, enjoy nature, and live a little more simply.

That dream eventually became the cabin you've probably seen on my YouTube channel.

This blog exists to go beyond what I can cover in a video.

Here I'll share the details behind each project, the lessons I learned, the mistakes I'd avoid if I built another cabin, and practical advice for anyone interested in building their own off-grid retreat.

Over the coming weeks and months I'll be publishing detailed articles covering every stage of the project, including choosing land, planning the cabin, the foundation, framing, roofing, insulation, solar power, water systems, and what it's really like living in an off-grid A-frame cabin.
